Gift Cards

A gift card to Sophie's Kitchen is the easy answer for the person who has everything: brunch for two, a high tea sitting, a whole cake for a birthday, or simply a month of very good coffee.

How they work

Cards are available at the counter in any amount and never expire. They can be spent on anything we serve — the brunch and lunch menu, high tea, cakes to take home, retail jars and coffee. Any unused balance stays on the card for the next visit.

Popular amounts

$50 covers brunch for two on a weekday. $90 covers a high tea sitting for two, stand and pot included. $120 covers a whole celebration cake in the medium size. Anything above that we simply load as a balance and leave the choosing to the recipient.

For companies

For staff gifts and client thank-yous we prepare cards in batches, each in its own envelope with a hand-written note if you send us the names. Tell us how many cards and the amount per card, and we will have them ready to collect within two working days.

Good to know

Gift cards are not redeemable for cash and cannot be replaced if lost, so treat them like the small pieces of card they are. If a card is used for part of a bill, the balance is printed on the receipt.

Choosing an amount

If you are not sure what to load onto the card, think in visits rather than dollars: one weekday brunch for two, one high tea sitting, or one whole cake. Each of those is a complete occasion, and the recipient does not have to work out whether the balance covers the tip.

Delivery

Cards are picked up at the counter, in a plain envelope or with a hand-written note, whichever you prefer. For a last-minute present we can prepare one in a few minutes; for a batch, give us two working days.

Using a card

Hand it over at the end of the meal like any other payment. Part-payments are fine — the remaining balance is printed on the receipt and stays on the card indefinitely, so there is no rush and no expiry date to remember.
